Describing the importance of fasting, Shri Mataji Jyotishacharya Purushottamji Bhardwaj told that Shri Shri 1008 Shri Guru Maharaj Murlidharji Bharadwaj came from his birth place Bondkala, Haryana and came to the Bawdi temple and was engrossed in unbroken penance for 4 years. By establishing the fearsome place in holy temples, the religious people of Rajgarh were honored with the prestige of Goddess Maa, Shivalaya, Radhakrishna, Ganpatiji, Santoshi Maa, Bhairavnath, Bajrangbali etc. This holy fast of intention Mahadev was told by Guru Maharaj to his devotees, as a result of which the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled, this fast is being done at Mataji temple for almost 100 years.
Today, in many cities of Madhya Pradesh including many provinces of India, this fast is done with a resolution from Mataji temple, and in foreign countries also, devotees of India observe fast with resolution on mobile, this fast of Lord Shiva during Shukla Paksha of Shravan month. Starting from the Chaturthi of the month of Kartik, it is completed on the Chaturthi of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, in the middle of all the Mondays that come, listen to the story and get food at a time for 4 months, the Vriti should be on onion, garlic, carrot, radish, brinjal, item, others. Do not condemn anyone, renounce other's clothes, sleep on earth or wood, do not do violence to any living being, renounce untruth, keep control of the senses, and those who follow these rules definitely get results.
