If you had read the first financial report from Verified Handles you would have noticed a $0 total spend.
To understand how the organisation achieved zero expenses in the month of September 2021, we need to gain a simple understanding of AWS Activate.
Amazon Web Services describes their Activate program as “credits…to help grow your business”. If approved, start-ups receive $1000 in credits for use on AWS services and £350 in support credits, both valid for two years.
AWS provides a large selection of web services for organisations. Companies like Netflix, NASA, Reddit and others are powered by AWS.
Verified Handles, according to its financial report, have all of their web expenses in AWS, with all September spending eligible to use the credits from Activate.
The non-profit has not released a press release about this change in their funding structure.
Included in the financial report was figures the organisation claimed are previous months spending. From the report, a total of $898.90 has been spent in the organisation from private funding.
