Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that Indore model of freeing cities from heaps of garbage will become an inspiration for other cities. Indore’s Devguradia area was once a mountain of garbage, now a 100-acre dump site has been converted into a green zone. The vision of a waste-to-wealth and circular economy has come true with the construction of Gobar-Dhan Bio-CNG Plant in Indore. This will give new strength to India’s cleanliness campaign Part-2, under which, in the coming two years, all the cities of the country will be made green zone by freeing them from garbage. Indore city has also bagged the Water Plus, now this city will inspire other cities of the country in this area as well. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his team have done a great job in Madhya Pradesh.

Prime Minister Shri Modi, was dedicating the Gobar-Dhan Bio-CNG Plant in Indore through virtual medium from Delhi today. Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel, Minister of social justice Dr. Virendra Kumar, Minister for housing and urban affairs Shri Kaushal Kishore, State Government Ministers, MPs and MLAs were present.

The Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the women of Indore have set an example of waste management. They have disposed the garbage by dividing it into 6 parts. This recycling ritual is a great service to the nation. Expressing gratitude to the sanitation workers of Indore, Prime Minister Shri Modi said that their service in the difficult times of Corona is commendable. I salute and bow to the sanitation workers of Indore from Delhi.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the people of Indore have not allowed the inspiration of Devi Ahilya to be lost. Even today Indore is progressing on the path shown by Devi Ahilya. The grand statue of Devi Ahilya at the Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi reminds us of her invaluable contribution.

The Prime Minister said that the contribution of former MP Smt. Sumitra Mahajan “Tai” in the development of Indore is commendable. She has given new heights to Indore. The current MP Shri Shankar Lalwani is also following her path

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that I am happy that in the coming two years, work is being done on setting up such Gobar-Dhan Bio-CNG plants in 75 big urban bodies of the country. This campaign will help a lot towards making India's cities clean, pollution free and producing clean energy. Now thousands of Gobar-Dhan biogas plants are being set up not only in the cities but also in the villages of the country. Due to this, our cattle farmers have started getting additional income from cow dung. The problems faced by the farmers in our villages and countryside from the helpless animals will also be reduced through such Gobar-Dhan plants.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that apart from CNG, 100 tonnes of organic manure will also be generated daily from the Indore plant. CNG will reduce pollution and add to the convenience of every person in daily life. With this, about 400 buses can be run every day in Indore city. Hundreds of youths are also going to get employment in one way or the other from this plant. That is, it will also be helpful in increasing green jobs. The organic manure that will be made from the plant will also give new life to our mother earth. Our earth will be rejuvenated.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that there are two ways to deal with any challenge, the first way is to solve that challenge instantaneously. Another way is to tackle that challenge in such a way that everyone finds a permanent solution. The schemes that our government has made in the last 7 years, those schemes are going to give permanent solutions and will be able to achieve many goals at once. The Prime Minister said that take the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, many works like cleanliness, dignity of women, prevention of diseases, beautifying villages and cities, creating employment opportunities have been done simultaneously. Now our focus is on the disposal of garbage from the houses and from the streets.

The Prime Minister Shri Modi said that today lakhs of tonnes of garbage occupies thousands of acres of land in cities across the country. They are also a major reason for the diseases caused by air pollution, water pollution in the cities. Therefore work is being done to deal with this problem in the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Our cities can be freed from these mountains of garbage in the coming 2 or 3 years, they can be converted into green zones, for this every possible help is being given to the state governments. It is also a good thing that this year, compared to 2014, now the capacity of urban waste disposal in the country has increased by 4 times. To rid the country of single-use plastic, material recovery pacific facilities are also being built in more than 1600 bodies. It is our endeavour that in the next few years such a system should be built in every city of the country. Such modern arrangements are also giving a new power to the circular economy in the cities of India.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that cleanliness will boost tourism which will instill new life in the economy. Indore has done all this. Even today people from all over the country and abroad come to see how the work has been done for cleanliness and sanitation in Indore.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that farmers will get additional income by using stubble ( parali) in coal factories. Solar energy is also being given utmost importance in India. India has become one of the first five countries in the world in the production of solar energy. Now farmers will also make solar energy. Farmers will become the Urjadata along with being Annadata. With technology, innovation and hard work, we will ensure a green and clean future.
