Governor discussed departmental plans with the officials of Tribal Affairs Department

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that a study should be conducted of the educational level of the special backward tribes. He said to prioritize the efforts to bring those in target group who are deprived of education and benefits under the mainstream of development. Governor Shri Patel was being apprised about the implementation of departmental schemes with the officials of the Tribal Affairs Department at Raj Bhavan. Governor Shri Patel said to prepare a development map for the basic facilities in the tribal areas. In this, the details of basic facilities available in 89 development blocks of the state should be maintained. The needs for creating basic infrastructure should be identified. Effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Aadi Adarsh Gram Yojana can be done through the development map. He asked to give information to students of higher secondary schools about the facilities and benefits being provided by the government. He underlined the need to prepare a database of students studying in class tweleth. The Governor said that arrangements should be made to share the experiences of successful students. By discussing with them, the future generation can be inspired and the procedural arrangements, developments and implementation works can be perked up in the plans according to their experiences.
Governor Shri Patel inquired about the availability of budget funds in proportion to the tribal population. He said that the budget formulation process starts at the beginning of the year. Therefore, it is necessary that the departments should submit the demand of funds to the government by the end of December in respect of new schemes, programmes and financial requirements for them.
Tribal Cell Chairman Shri Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Department Smt. Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Principal Secretary to Governor Shri DP Ahuja, Tribal Cell Member Secretary Shri BS Jamod and other members and departmental officers were present.
