Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed N.C.C. Planted Neem, Banyan and Moulshree saplings in Smart City Garden located at Shyamala Hills along with Cadets and mountaineer Mrs. Jyoti Ratre.
Along with Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, NCC cadets of IEC University Bhopal, Shri Abhishek Kumar Singh, Jitendra Prakash Srivastava, Nitesh Kushwaha, Gaurav Yadav and Kumari Jhilmil Kushwaha planted saplings. University's Dean Student Welfare Dr. Renu Yadav and Prof. Sonu Lal was present. Various community development activities are conducted by NCC cadets along with plantation, cleanliness. Along with mountaineer Mrs. Jyoti Ratre, Mr. Mumtaz Khan also planted saplings. Mrs Ratre is the oldest woman in the country to climb Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in the continent of Europe. He has also hoisted the tricolor on Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of the continent of Africa.

Banyan has religious and medicinal importance. According to Ayurveda, many diseases can be treated with the help of Banyan leaves, bark etc. Immunity increases by drinking its decoction. Rich in antibiotic elements, neem is known as the supreme medicine. Moulshree is a medicinal tree, it has been used in Ayurveda for centuries.
