According to the rules of Shravan Purnima, Sanatan Dharmavalambis celebrated Shravani festival on the banks of Mahi river in Sardarpur under the guidance of astrologer Shri Purushottamji Bhardwaj of Mataji temple on Thursday. Hemadri took bath with the resolve of Dus Vidha. In this, after applying ash, cow dung, soil, cow urine, cow milk, curd, turmeric, kush and honey along with others, bathing was done with the water of holy Mahi river amidst recitation of Veda Mantras. After which Ganapati worship, Rishi worship, Yagyopaveet donation, Yagyopaveet Sanskar, Yagyopaveet holding, Havan and defense rituals were performed after taking the seat. Jyotishacharya Shri Purushottamji Bhardwaj told that there are three parts of Shravani Upakarma. This includes resolution on atonement, rites and health. Sage worship and Yagyopaveet Sanskar etc. come under the category of self-restraint rituals. Along with this, the health of Veda-Vedang is started with the offering of ghee in the Havan-yagya dedicated to Savitri, Brahma, Shraddha, Megha, Pragya, Sadaspati, Permission, verses and the sage.
