Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh Chouhan celebrated the festival of Karva Chauth at the Chief Minister's residence. Mrs. Sadhna Singh worshiped the moon after moonrise by offering arghya and as per tradition obtained blessings after seeing the moon and husband Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan through a sieve. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan opens the fast by getting his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh to drink water. Prior to this, husband and wife performed ritualistic worship of Mother Karva at their residence. The story of Karva Mata was read. The fast of Karva Chauth is kept for the attainment of a long and trouble-free life of the husband.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Karva Chauth festival is a symbol of mutual love, respect and harmony. This feeling facilitates the path of progress for the family. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that today, on the auspicious occasion of Karva Chauth, all of you should take a pledge to take your spouse and other family members along with you. This effort of yours will become the basis of a happy life by providing a positive environment to the new generation along with you.
